They are two cats who just can't stay out of trouble. In the play, they have a solo number called "Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer" <== well there's a hunk of logic for you :) There are two theories regarding them: the first states that they are brother and sister, while the second tells us that they are in love. The second sure makes for some interesting fanfics!
| The couple makes their home in Victoria Grove and, as they tell us in their song, they're notorious cat burglars. Mischief seems to follow them everywhere they go. We first meet them after "Bustopher Jones," when the other cats are frightened offstage by a Macavity scare. They begin the number with a giggle, and fill it with an interesting array of acrobatic stunts. |

They seem to insist that everyone know that they are the cause of any mischief around. When Mungo says, "It was... Mungojerrie..." Rumpel acts as if she's offended that Mungo didn't mention her. She then adds, emphasizing the first word, "AND....Rumpelteazer!" And the couple finishes off their act with a simple, "And there's nothing at all to be done about that!"
